I began my relief yesterday after much debate on what my image would be. The image is from a marble sculpture I found online, it is of 2 lovers in an embrace face to face. It's a rough outline, but I have several lines drawn in to guide me as I carve. Although, now that I have started on it, I'm considering changing the image to a fetus in the womb. I like how it's circular and starting to take shape and depth.
This blog is for East Central University sculpture students to interact with one another. Students will post images of their classwork and discuss / critique the work on an ongoing basis throughout the semester.

either way, make the carving deep and make sure to have a good figure/ground relationship. both are good ideas
