Finished high relief

Well this ^ was supposed to be Week 3/last week's post on my progress, but this ^ is my finished project. I had trouble with giving the turtles the definition I wanted, which I think I could've corrected if I had done this on a larger scale. Overall, I think I achieved the texture and feel that I was wanting for this piece (for the most part). I think I spent ~15-16 hours on this piece.

  1. I like the waves and movement of your water and the way it flows. I also like that it is a whole picture, almost a story. It reminds me of a lovely nights swim by moonlight. i think you could have cut your turtles deeper which would have made them pop more but an awesome job!!!

  2. critique: I agree with Jessi. The movement in the waves are nice and I like the fact that each turtle has a different form. Great Job!

  3. I agree as well its really nice but I think it couldve been a little deeper to make to turtles stand out a little more. The different colors in the wood looks good too.

  4. I agree that the water looks like it is flowing. Definately cool. It could be a little deeper for the turtles, but all in all, it works. I also like the way you did the stars, so they stand out, almost as if they are twinkling.
