This is my finished ship.

  1. I like the stylized water. I think some stylized clouds might be a nice touch. it could still be done

  2. critique: I really like this image, your shadows are good. I feel like you are showing foreground with the waves, middle ground with the ship and background with your sky. The waves convey movement and the sun is beating down on the ship and its crew! There seems to be a story that should go with this scene, I want to know what's next. I think more detail in the ship would have been a good addition. Overall it's a great piece.

  3. I like the water also, and I really like how the sky looks like rain falling. At least that is what it reminds me of. I can't tell if the ship is below the water or not. But I like it!

  4. I also like the stylized water. I like the picture. It reminds me of a movie "The Princess Bride." Its an old and cheesy movie. The background reminds me of a moutain wall. I wonder what it would look like with some cliffs coming out. Great job!

  5. I really like that you seem to have taken a different approach to this assignment by making it more surreal than realistic, and that there is a sense of unity throughout the piece created by the patterns. I agree with adding something to the background and more detail to the ship, but also maybe recessing the ship a bit deeper still to emphasize its separation from the waves a little more.

  7. Sorry, I didn't realize we were supposed to write stuff about our own piece. I had originally designed this piece with much more detail, adding lines and more of a bow. I had wanted to put in clouds as well... Also, an anchor. However, these things did not happen for various reasons. The sky would not agree with me and the whole of the bow and anchor chipped off. I thought about indenting the ship's lines, but by then it seemed like a worse idea then leaving them off. So, anyways, here it is. Or there it was.
