I liked the way my "feldspar" turned out.
My "malachite" was waaaaay too shiny and weird-looking. Pretty, though.
Here, you can see how the darkening turned out on the "shale." Had to do that to make them not so human waste-like.

I used THIS!!!!!
It's a dirt dobber nest. If you crush it up, you get nice sand. Since I was sick, it was icy cold, and I hadn't left my apt all week, I looked out my apt door. Lo And Behold! A nice little package of art supplies left for my by my friendly neighborhood flying creature. I crushed it up and pressed it into the paint as I fixed my way too green and shiny malachite artifacts.

I thought the "feldspar" made the symbols of my artifacts too obscure. So, I darkened the recessed parts.
