Here is my sculpture. I was just having fun when I built this. I just started glueing stuff together, if I thought it looked good, I left it if not I took it off. The part that I carved is the legs of the guy that is going down the tube. Later on I want to add a little guy climbing up the back part, and maybe have some guys coming out of the tubes at some point. At this point I really like this, I put a lot of hours into it. Once I got started working on this I could not stop, it was too much fun. There were many of nights when my husband would come get me late, like 12 or 1230 and tell me I needed to sleep. This really happened when I started carving the "little guy." I really enjoy carving and am hoping to get some more carving tools to keep doing it after this class.
This blog is for East Central University sculpture students to interact with one another. Students will post images of their classwork and discuss / critique the work on an ongoing basis throughout the semester.

This looks good..I like the different shapes it is interesting to look at! Why did you decide to paint the triangles and why green?
ReplyDeleteI decided to paint the triangles because they are made out of masonite and I did not think that it looked good with the natural color. I was told to paint it this color of green so I did.
ReplyDeletephotograph outside on one of the pedestals
ReplyDeletegood job i like the green it gives the piece a focal point which helps the eye stated at that point and moves all around and ends up back at the green. I really like it. its a mario
