Antony Gormly

The Cass Sculpture Foundation states that Antony Gormly was born in London in 1950. After school at the Ampleforth College, he would go on to complete a degree in Archeology,Anthropology, and History of Art, at the Trinity College in Cambridge. After graduating in 1971, Gormly would then travel to India and Sri Lanka to study Buddhism. After returning to London in 1974, Gormly attended the Central School of Art and Goldsmith College before completing a post-grad course in sculpture between 1977-1979.
Gormlys' work shows the emotion and energy of the human body with usually smaller staionary objects. The sculptures he portrays have almost as much life as the people he makes out of them.
