Benedetta Mori Ubaldini

Benedetta Mori Ubaldini

She trained in Italy as an Art Restorer. Ubaldini moved to London in 1991 where she worked as an Art Restorer but was not creatively happy doing this. She quit her job and started school at Middlesex University to study Fine Arts in 1994. She began creating sculptures. Below is an example of her balloon art. This is what she calls her "ugly art". The balloon art deals mainly with body issues and everyday life.

Her other sculptures are created out of chicken wire. She creates 3-D whimsical stories from Ubaldini's childhood. Their transparent appearances create a feeling that the art is an apparition or just a memory. Below is her sculpture "Little Red Riding Hood and Wolves".

Many of the pieces are painted bright colors. An example of the bright colors is displayed in "Pigs, Trees, birds and a bear".
